NARRAGANSETT - Ebenezer Scrooge buys Happy Meals for the Cratchit children this December in "Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge," a madcap musical parody of Dickens' classic tale presented by the Contemporary Theater Company at The Towers in Narragansett.

In playwright Christopher Durang's playful send-up of traditional Christmas cheer, Scrooge and the Ghost wind up at Bob Cratchit's house to find a neurotic Mrs. Cratchit lamenting life and motherhood and threatening to jump off the London Bridge.

"With laughs from start to finish, we promise an unforgettable yuletide treat that's fun for the whole family," Artistic Director Christopher J. Simpson said. "The show offers a refreshing, playful twist on a beloved holiday tale."

The rollicking comedy stars Terry Simpson of South Kingstown as Scrooge, Amy Lee Connell of East Providence as Mrs. Cratchit, Kevin Killavey of Portsmouth as Bob Cratchit and Amelia Giles of South Kingstown as the Ghost. The cast also features an ensemble of six children, including Liam Donnelly of South Kingstown as Tiny Tim.

The company is pleased to return to The Towers for another holiday production, having presented "The Gift of the Magi" last year.

"Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge" shows Dec. 15, 16, 17, 21, 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 to $22 depending on the date.

The Towers is located 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett, RI and is handicapped accessible. More information is available at www.TheContemporaryTheater.com or by calling (401) 218-0282.
