WEST KINGSTON, R.I. - The Courthouse Theater Co. is looking for the perfect match of actors and roles. The theater company is seeking actors and actresses to take part in Thornton Wilder's "The Matchmaker." Open auditions will be held April 20 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and April 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Courthouse Center for the Arts, 3481 Kingstown Road, West Kingston. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin May 28 with the show opening July 6.
Each audition will last 20 minutes. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to bring a pre-prepared monologue. Additional materials will be provided. A resume of relevant experience is also encouraged. Auditions can be scheduled by e-mailing info@courthousetheater.com or calling 401-228-5175.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Christopher J. Simpson, a Princeton University undergraduate and lifelong South Kingstown, R.I. resident, formed the Courthouse Theater Co. in 2004. With a cast and crew comprised of mostly of college-age students from South County, the Company was incorporated as a nonprofit in May 2006 with Simpson as its president and artistic director. Last summer the Company produced David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning Proof and Kaufman and Hart's classic You Can't Take It With You as well as a 24-Hour Play Festival.
