LOCAL THEATER COMPANY ANNOUNCES CASTING CALL
WEST KINGSTON - The Courthouse Theater Co. is looking for a few talented men and women to participate in its upcoming 24-Hour Play Festival on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008.
This novel concept brings together writers, directors and actors from across the state to produce original shorts in the span of just 24 hours. The first festival in 2006 attracted attention from as far away as the Boston Globe and last year's festival sold-out.
Designed to be a fun practice in theater, the festival presents a unique challenge for those pursuing a career in theater or simply holding an interest in plays. Writers are needed from the hours of midnight to 8 a.m. on Jan. 12. Actors, actresses and directors should be available from 8 a.m. to approximately 11 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Due to the company's status as a nonprofit corporation, stipends are not available for show participants. However, travel reimbursement is available for those traveling from more than 100 miles away and prizes will be awarded to the best writer (plot), actor, actress and overall show as voted on by the audience.
Those interested in participating should e-mail info@courthousetheater.com or fill out our online form.
ABOUT THE COMPANY

With a cast and crew composed of mostly of college-age students from South County, the Company was incorporated as a nonprofit in May 2006 with Simpson as its president and artistic director.
